So there must be some tricks to make it work on transmit! The sensitivity seemed excellent as was the selectivityīummer was the fact the 7300 recieved PSK in DIGIPAN great, but when I tried to Transmit. The only time it flaked out was when another station at our FD site decide her was going to run PSK31 on the same band. I can say it is just as good as the Hallicrafters SR-400. That way, if the computer goes KAPUT, the contacts are not lost. I log all by hand and THEN transcribe them into the N3FJP logger. So Field day progressed and I began to fill the log.

I used the spectrum scope to look for a hole but there was none!!įinally, tuning up the band, I found an underutilized frequency and called CQFD. I made it through the pileup admitalbly!!Īt exactly 1800Z, the 20 meter band turned to COMPLETE BEDLAM, with every able KC crowded in deep. The first contact on it was with a NPOTA station in Yellowstone NP.
It would be subject to the HARSHEST of conditons and QRM beyond imagination!! I just plugged it in and verified it lit up.īut today was FIELD DAY, and WHAT A WAY to break in a brand new radio!!!
